00:00:00
I know that they just want me to reach my full potential, and that wasn't gonna happen there.

00:00:05
So I had to then make sacrifices for whatever my future family and my future requires of me.

00:00:12
And so it was incredibly scary because I live off of stability.

00:00:17
I and it was hard to walk away from money.

00:00:20
That's what we'll get you too.

00:00:21
It's like, how much money you can make in that world.

00:00:24
And I, at 26, was doing very well.

00:00:27
And so

00:00:28

00:01:16
Phenomenal guest today.

00:01:19
Alexa Neacham, the host of the minutes of positivity podcast.

00:01:22
We're gonna be talking about quitting your job, the 9 to 5 grind.

00:01:26
Going entrepreneur, what the hustle looks like, keeping that positive mindset and all things

00:01:31
health, wellness, and positive positive thinking.

00:01:34
Right?

00:01:35
Positive.

00:01:35
Thank you for being on the show today.

00:01:37
Thank you for having me.

00:01:38
This is my first podcast interview.

00:01:41
I'm usually on the other side, so this is really cool.

00:01:43
Oh, we'll keep it casual.

00:01:44
You're the interviewer.

00:01:46
Yeah.

00:01:46
I'm not used to that.

00:01:47
Seats today.

00:01:48
Awesome.

00:01:49
Awesome.

00:01:49
Well, tell us a little bit about yourself, a little bit about your podcast, kind of the

00:01:53
focus, and, And what you're doing with it all?

00:01:56
Yeah.

00:01:57
So I I'm originally from Massachusetts.

00:02:00
I moved to Tampa about 4 years ago, and I started the podcast about 4 years ago.

00:02:05
And so, or about 3 years ago.

00:02:09
And I I really just wanted a space where we could tell stories.

00:02:13
That was the the motive behind it.

00:02:15
It was like, oh, I just want a space where people can come on and share their stories

00:02:19
about life.

00:02:20
And I had gone through some things in mind where I was like, people could relate to this.

00:02:24
This is a great idea.

00:02:25
And then as I started doing it, I realized that I just was not in a great head space.

00:02:31
And so I

00:02:31
felt like a fraud

00:02:31
almost because I was promoting all this positivity and trying to put all these

00:02:39
incredible people on my podcast when I just wanted to crawl into bed and not talk

00:02:44
to anybody.

00:02:44
Yeah.

00:02:44
And so it felt what was supposed to be really enjoyable to me felt so much

00:02:44
like a chore that I decided I'll just take a little bit of a break from it, and then 2 years

00:02:57
went by.

00:02:58
And so I just relaunched it with a completely different mindset, a completely different

00:03:04
intention, and I feel incredible about it now than I did before.

00:03:10
Yeah.

00:03:10
That's cool.

00:03:11
Erica Thomas, you've heard of the hip hop creature.

00:03:14
Mm-mm.

00:03:14
Oh, dude.

00:03:14
He's cool.

00:03:15
But anyways,

00:03:16
pick up where you left off.

00:03:18
Yeah.

00:03:18
Like, that's, that's such a cool concept because if it does take 2 years, it's like,

00:03:23
yeah, 2 years went by, but so what?

00:03:25
Pick up where you left off, and that's where

00:03:26
you're going.

00:03:27
I love that.

00:03:27
And timing is everything, and I think that there was a there I know there was a reason I

00:03:31
had taken that time off.

00:03:33
It might not have made sent to sense to me then.

00:03:36
However, now looking back, I'm like, oh, thank god.

00:03:38
I took that time because I don't know that I would have been equipped for what's coming had

00:03:45
I stayed in it.

00:03:46
Whereas I took time to get to know myself, take care of myself, heal a little bit, get healthy.

00:03:54
And now I'm like, oh, I mentally physically spiritually prepared for wherever this podcast

00:04:00
could actually take me.

00:04:01
That's so good.

00:04:02
So I think sometimes you have to take a break from something to come back stronger just like

00:04:07
working out, just like, you know, you take a couple weeks off from the gym, and I feel

00:04:10
stronger going back.

00:04:12
This is no different.

00:04:13
It just It happened to be 2 years.

00:04:15
Sometimes, yeah, sometimes you gotta hit that reset a little bit.

00:04:17
Yeah.

00:04:18
Again, like, the timing maybe 2 years ago, if you would have tried to, like, push through it

00:04:21
and force it, right, square peg round hole kind of thing, you're trying to make something work

00:04:26
that's not, like, ready for it or at the time.

00:04:28
And then maybe you would have quit.

00:04:30
Right?

00:04:30
Like, maybe you wouldn't be here today doing it.

00:04:32
Right.

00:04:32
Good job for listening to, like, kind of your internal voice and

00:04:35
Thank you.

00:04:36
Following that.

00:04:36
Yeah.

00:04:37
For sure.

00:04:37
I think we all gotta be better about doing that.

00:04:39
Yeah.

00:04:39
Yeah.

00:04:40
I was still in my corporate job too, which was a big

00:04:43
So you're trying to do 2 things.

00:04:44
Yeah.

00:04:45
Yeah.

00:04:45
Where I had to be present for both, and they both needed my attention.

00:04:45
And my corporate job was not a place where I was happy anymore.

00:04:56
And so it was trickling into those

00:04:58
other things.

00:04:58
And I think when that starts to happen, it's really hard to continue to put yourself into

00:04:58
like, I

00:04:58
couldn't see the opportunities that were coming anymore.

00:04:58
It just it was I was checked out.

00:05:13
Yeah.

00:05:13
Tell us about that.

00:05:14
So what did you do for a corporate job?

00:05:17
I worked for a pharmaceutical company in the compliance department.

00:05:17
I was one of their lead investigators.

00:05:17
So we made the drugs in the manufacturing We had the manufacturing building, and so we would

00:05:30
manufacture the drugs.

00:05:31
And so my job was to investigate when something went wrong.

00:05:35
And then I had to sit with the client and basically tell them that, you know, there's a

00:05:40
hair in the vial and This is why.

00:05:42
And, you know, I just got yelled at a lot.

00:05:45
Who wasn't the person they liked?

00:05:47
Yes.

00:05:47
You liked it.

00:05:48
And then lunch would happen, and we'd be having lunch, and they'd be different people.

00:05:51
And then lunch would go away and they'd be like, so why was the hair there?

00:05:54
Did you put it there?

00:05:55
I'm like, I didn't put the air there.

00:05:57
Like, I'm I'm not in there.

00:05:58
Yeah.

00:05:59
So I was just this messenger that just they killed the messenger

00:06:03
a lot.

00:06:03
You had to go into the you had to go in there with the bad news.

00:06:06
You were always looking for a problem

00:06:07
always looking for a problem and always looking for a solution, and it's exhausting because

00:06:12
you're like, even when you find the solution, something else happens.

00:06:15
And you're like, okay.

00:06:17
So we're back here again.

00:06:19
But I was good at it, and I have a master's degree in health administration.

00:06:22
And so I definitely have a passion for health care.

00:06:26
And I just think it looks different now and how I how I'll pursue

00:06:27
that looks different now.

00:06:35
It sounds kinda like like what I've heard from you and just us chatting a little bit.

00:06:39
It's like, you know, you put all this time into school and your life and learning, and you're

00:06:43
kinda told the next step is you get a job and you go onto the world.

00:06:47
You just do these things that are expected of you, and you were like, not working.

00:06:51
I'm done with that.

00:06:52
How scary was that?

00:06:53
Right?

00:06:53
Because a lot of people can't even fathom that idea, and that's why they stick in, of, in, an

00:06:58
unhappy place for their entire lives.

00:07:00
Right?

00:07:00
Then they get to

00:07:01
the end.

00:07:01
They're like,

00:07:01
what did I just do?

00:07:02
What did I waste this entire thing?

00:07:04
So

00:07:05
it was terrifying

00:07:06
Yeah.

00:07:06
To say the least because I I put myself through my masters, and I'm a 1st generation.

00:07:13
So I was really nervous to tell my family, like, oh, by the way, you know, because you

00:07:17
don't you don't when you're a 1st generation, I think a lot of people can appreciate this.

00:07:22
You don't have many options.

00:07:24
You Yeah.

00:07:25
You're my father is an immigrant who came from Lebanon to put me through school and do those

00:07:31
things.

00:07:32
And it was I was nervous to tell him, you know, hey.

00:07:36
Can I switch some things up?

00:07:38
You know?

00:07:39
Yeah.

00:07:39
And but I think when I when I finally decided that it was time to walk away, It didn't matter

00:07:48
what anyone was gonna tell me because at that point, I I was 26, and

00:07:51
I felt like I

00:07:52
was 45.

00:07:59
I felt miserable.

00:08:02
And I I thought to myself, if I continue down this path, what do the next 20 years look like?

00:08:02
And so I I know the sacrifices that my parents made to to give me the life that I have.

00:08:16
And I know that they just want me to reach my full potential, and that wasn't gonna happen

00:08:21
there.

00:08:22
So I had to then make sacrifices for whatever my future family and my future requires of me.

00:08:29
And so it was incredibly scary because I live off of, stability.

00:08:34
I and it was hard to walk away from money.

00:08:37
That's what we'll get you too is, like, how much money you can make in that world.

00:08:41
And I at 26 was doing very well.

00:08:44
And so to think about walking away from financial stability, it

00:08:45
was like, oh, I'm making it really.

00:08:45
This is crazy.

00:08:45
And it was the best thing I ever did.

00:08:57
So as scary as it was, it was the best thing I could have done.

00:09:01
That is the thing about entrepreneurism is that it's it isn't for everybody.

00:09:06
It's a scary, scary walk when you walk into it.

00:09:08
It's like the 1st day, you're like, alright.

00:09:10
I'm gonna do it.

00:09:11
I'm actually gonna quit my job.

00:09:12
I did that.

00:09:13
And so I, like, my my first day, I'm, like, in my late twenties, and I'm trying to, like, what

00:09:20
do I do now?

00:09:21
You know, I didn't have, like, the I kinda had the side hustle, but I was, like, I was just

00:09:26
getting into real estate a little bit.

00:09:28
And I'm like, like, yeah.

00:09:31
This is weird.

00:09:32
Like, I I have a little bit of time, but then there's also that, like, that breathing

00:09:36
component I can I can breathe?

00:09:37
Like, actually, time time is on my side now.

00:09:40
Yep.

00:09:41
And then, like, I can best utilize it the way I want to.

00:09:45
Yeah.

00:09:45
Right.

00:09:46
And so it it is.

00:09:47
It's one of those, like, dynamics that it just it's this shift.

00:09:51
It's this, like, complete culture shift.

00:09:53
Totally.

00:09:54
Because you do have a lot of stability structure.

00:09:56
Somebody else is paying you a paycheck, but now you gotta go to go eat.

00:10:00
You gotta find it.

00:10:01
You gotta go.

00:10:01
You definitely gotta go find it.

00:10:03
That's cool.

00:10:04
I get a question for you, though, because I'm so interested on the dynamic then if your 2nd

00:10:10
generation so your parents were 1st generation.

00:10:12
No.

00:10:13
I am 1st.

00:10:14
You're 1st.

00:10:14
I'm sorry.

00:10:15
But they were immigrants.

00:10:16
They came over here.

00:10:16
My father.

00:10:17
Yes.

00:10:18
Okay.

00:10:18
So are they entrepreneurs?

00:10:20
What did they do when they came from Lebanon?

00:10:22
So my dad, I guess you could say, to some degree, is he owns or owned a restaurant.

00:10:29
Okay.

00:10:29
Yeah.

00:10:30
And

00:10:30
now, yeah, so he he he has a Lebanese restaurant in Massachusetts.

00:10:34
And He has spent in the restaurant industry.

00:10:39
He's a phenomenal cook.

00:10:41
Absolutely.

00:10:41
Can take 3 ingredients out of your pantry and make a four core like, four course meal.

00:10:45
I need some too salad right now.

00:10:47
Yeah.

00:10:47
I'm drinking under

00:10:48
you.

00:10:49
Yeah.

00:10:49
That's amazing.

00:10:51
Going faster.

00:10:52
Yeah.

00:10:52
Right.

00:10:52
And I'm telling you it's the best.

00:10:54
And so I watched

00:10:55
my whole life.

00:10:56
Watched him work to the ground.

00:10:56
You know?

00:10:56
Like, he I I didn't see my dad a lot growing up in the way that, you know, I he would wake us

00:11:10
up coming home late, waking us up to take us back to the house, and it was, He just he

00:11:17
worked a lot, and he didn't trust anybody else to to cook the food the right way and

00:11:21
everything like that.

00:11:23
And now he's he does all these farmer's markets, and he makes pita chips, and he is

00:11:28
doing phenomenal.

00:11:30
So it's such a blessing.

00:11:33
So, yeah, he technically is kind of an entrepreneur in his own in his own way.

00:11:38
And that's so cool because we talked about this in our last podcast.

00:11:41
Right?

00:11:42
I had to reflect just this morning and reflected on this.

00:11:45
As far as they had a dream.

00:11:47
So they had a dream to come from Lebanon to the United States.

00:11:50
They wanted to raise their family or hand to you.

00:11:53
And, like, just taking a moment to kind of reflect on that as, like, as your parents,

00:11:58
like, are they living out their dream.

00:12:00
Right?

00:12:01
Whether or not, like, he plan you know, that's what he had to do to survive for the family,

00:12:06
but he instilled that in you, and that direct reflection was like, thank you.

00:12:11
Like, it's almost like in a level of appreciation.

00:12:13
And I was just saying that my parents are school teachers, but I I was like, if I had to

00:12:18
ask them, like, we were middle income class.

00:12:20
Like I said, I said it in a prior episode, but it was they were living that out.

00:12:25
Like, my dad was a basketball coach.

00:12:26
Loved it.

00:12:27
Loved the game of basketball.

00:12:28
My mom was a reading specialist.

00:12:30
Just love teaching, and it was just a different level of success for them.

00:12:34
Sure.

00:12:34
But they lived their dream, and then they showed me that I became an entrepreneur because

00:12:39
I'm like, look, I I gotta figure this thing out.

00:12:41
And that's where, like, you're at, and your dad really, like, your parents had still that

00:12:45
because they they made that choice.

00:12:47
Do you do you see it that way?

00:12:49
I think I guess I didn't necessarily look at it that way, but now that you say that probably to

00:12:56
some degree, I definitely have asked people, my parents, and and my aunts, and my uncle, like,

00:13:02
what they would do if they weren't, in their current job.

00:13:02
And sometimes it's different than what they're doing.

00:13:02
You know?

00:13:02
And I always wonder if that was something that they would ever go back to or not.

00:13:14
I I do come from a family of business owners.

00:13:14
My mom's family owns car dealerships.

00:13:14
So they all built car the car dealerships from from the ground up.

00:13:26
So I grew up in

00:13:27
that and watching my uncles.

00:13:27
My grandfather, my uncles create an incredible business,

00:13:27
selling cars, and they're very well known in Connecticut for that.

00:13:38
So I guess I def

00:13:39
I definitely get my work ethic and my drive from watching both of my family members, both

00:13:39
sides of my family and how they're they have

00:13:39
definitely gone through ups and downs and have pushed.

00:13:39
So I for sure have had really great examples of even though it's hard, you get up and

00:13:58
you keep going.

00:13:58
Yeah.

00:13:58
So And you you you stay true to yourself and you keep going.

00:13:58
So I've I

00:13:58
definitely've had great examples, thankfully.

00:14:08
And it's not like you had to do this.

00:14:10
Right?

00:14:10
Like, you could've just kept that job and it's easier to collect some, you know, collect the

00:14:15
check and just kinda listen and, you know, say yes or no, sir, that kind of thing.

00:14:18
Right?

00:14:19
Totally.

00:14:20
You know what?

00:14:20
It's kinda

00:14:21
funny about that trail.

00:14:22
Right?

00:14:22
And I would've climbed the ladder.

00:14:23
There's no doubt about that because I just know myself.

00:14:25
I would've been like, okay.

00:14:26
Well, it's time to get into a manager role.

00:14:28
And then I originally wanted to run a hospital.

00:14:30
That was the whole reason I got my master's degree.

00:14:32
I was like, I'm gonna be the CEO of a hospital.

00:14:33
And then I sat down with the CEO of a hospital, and he made a lot of great points.

00:14:37
I had breakfast with him.

00:14:38
And I thought I hope he was here.

00:14:39
Yeah.

00:14:39
You know, that's interesting.

00:14:39
Like, you know, it put into perspective.

00:14:39
Yeah.

00:14:47
I said, you know what?

00:14:48
But I'm different.

00:14:48
And so I I was like, I'll I'll keep trying.

00:14:51
And then I went into the prison systems and did my internship inside the prison systems to

00:14:56
bring those 2 together, health care, and and correctional facilities.

00:15:00
Saw that on your profile.

00:15:01
Yeah.

00:15:01
And so then I was like, can I do something with this?

00:15:04
And I started to and I still think I will do some.

00:15:08
I know I will do something with health care and and criminal justice and prison reform.

00:15:13
It just looks different from a different I wanted my job to be different.

00:15:17
I wanted to wake up and like what I do if it's gonna be something I have to do every single

00:15:22
day.

00:15:23
So that was really, what it was, but I I absolutely would have been easier to to sit

00:15:29
there and just keep working away.

00:15:32
And then I I don't know who I would have become then.

00:15:37
And I don't know that I would have liked that person because I didn't really like I didn't

00:15:40
really like her at 26.

00:15:42
I wasn't gonna like her at 36 or 46.

00:15:44
Yeah.

00:15:45
That's so Not freaked me out.

00:15:47
This is, like, the I I think of these things and really, like, kinda deep thought because,

00:15:52
you know, the generation, especially somebody that's an immigrant.

00:15:55
So my wife, she her dad was an immigrant, from Ecuador.

00:15:59
He's an entrepreneur.

00:16:00
And I've learned a lot from him, but it's always to make your kids' lives easier.

00:16:05
Right?

00:16:05
You're working so that, like, they can they can have an easier life.

00:16:09
But the becoming of them, you don't see the becoming of them.

00:16:13
Like, you're making a decision because you wanna narrate your story.

00:16:17
Totally.

00:16:18
Whereas, like, that's not really what the your parents probably had envisioned.

00:16:22
They're like, actually, we're just trying to make life a little easier for you.

00:16:24
How about you just keep the job?

00:16:26
Yeah.

00:16:26
Or because I wanna make your life a little bit easier.

00:16:28
But the reality is when you can go through a little bit of the mud, when your story becomes

00:16:33
a little bit better.

00:16:34
And so that's kudos to you.

00:16:35
That's awesome.

00:16:36
Thank you.

00:16:37
And I will say my parents, when I I think because I was 26 and not 21 or 18 coming to

00:16:43
them and saying I wanna be an actress.

00:16:45
I wanna try this.

00:16:47
I wanna you know, maybe start my podcast again.

00:16:49
I think I could really make it was almost like she she knows what she wants at this point.

00:16:55
There's nothing.

00:16:56
And so, thankfully, both my parents and My family have been incredibly supportive of my

00:17:04
decision and have continued.

00:17:06
I think they also are now seeing it in action in a way

00:17:08
that because it's taken a little bit.

00:17:08
You know?

00:17:08
I'm now 28.

00:17:08
So it's taken 2 years to get to this moment, which I've

00:17:08
prayed to get here.

00:17:17
So I'm like, I know where I'm going, but I've waited to get to this moment.

00:17:22
So I'm gonna enjoy this moment.

00:17:23
And so I think they're seeing the progress as well, and and I know that they're proud of me

00:17:28
and and want me to keep keep going.

00:17:30
So That's at least it does help because I it can be hard if you don't have any type of

00:17:36
support system.

00:17:37
That can help big time when you maybe have those that self doubt, right, or you kinda have

00:17:40
to kinda, like, question my shit.

00:17:42
Did I, like, oh, there were so many times last year where I was like, I've ruined my life.

00:17:47
Yeah.

00:17:47
I I ruined my life.

00:17:48
Like, this is crazy.

00:17:49
Because I think what you said before, it was like, you you get to breathe when you quit.

00:17:53
Yeah.

00:17:54
And it was like, I'm just taking, like, a vacation.

00:17:56
I'll go back.

00:17:57
You know?

00:17:57
And then I was like, oh, no.

00:17:59
I quit.

00:17:59
Like, I cannot go back.

00:18:01
I sent my, my computer.

00:18:02
Like, I don't Yeah.

00:18:03
I don't have health insurance anymore.

00:18:05
What am I you know, and so I had to find all those things and figure it out, and I had to go

00:18:09
get another job that was I just didn't ever anticipate having to do again.

00:18:15
That was outside of that world.

00:18:17
You know?

00:18:17
And it's hard because it's so much easier to be like, I have a master's in Bragg, and I have a

00:18:22
good job.

00:18:23
It's when you leave it that people are like, what are you doing?

00:18:25
Yeah.

00:18:26
Why would you do that?

00:18:27
Is it so different from the norm Right?

00:18:28
That's kinda

00:18:29
what we're talking about.

00:18:30
Right?

00:18:30
So that

00:18:30
And it's scary to them.

00:18:32
Yeah.

00:18:32
So, therefore, they tell me that I, you know, they project it onto me.

00:18:36
100%.

00:18:36
And so then, of course, I for about a year, I internalized that.

00:18:41
I think and I think I needed that year to kind of spiral.

00:18:44
So that I could come to where I am now.

00:18:46
I was like, yeah.

00:18:47
I'm good.

00:18:48
I got it.

00:18:49
Like, this is what I'm supposed to do.

00:18:50
I get

00:18:50
to the mud.

00:18:51
You gotta get through the mud.

00:18:52
Yeah.

00:18:52
And the mud is super scary.

00:18:55
Super dark.

00:18:56
Super dark.

00:18:57
I can yeah.

00:18:58
Really dark.

00:18:58
I can relate in a way because, you know, like, I was eighteen when I told my dad, like, hey.

00:19:02
I'm not I don't wanna work for you.

00:19:04
Right?

00:19:04
So, like, my dad built this, like, empire of a company that his dad started when he immigrated

00:19:08
from from Italy, from Sicily.

00:19:10
And so, you know, big family company almost ever the family works there, like, my brother

00:19:13
works there.

00:19:14
I've been working there since I was 12, you know, in the factory on the summers and stuff.

00:19:17
So I knew, you know, that that was kinda like a shoe in for me.

00:19:19
I was like, I

00:19:20
can just do this.

00:19:21
Right?

00:19:21
But I just didn't there's just something about me that was just different.

00:19:23
I didn't I didn't see myself going that route.

00:19:25
I love sports.

00:19:26
I love fitness.

00:19:27
I wanted to be in the space.

00:19:29
And so, like, having that conversation with my dad, like, hey.

00:19:31
I'm gonna do something else.

00:19:32
You know, it's like, now shit.

00:19:33
Like, now I gotta figure it out.

00:19:35
Right?

00:19:35
Cause, like, he's he he had this plan, right, that he kinda said in in motion for me.

00:19:39
But Totally.

00:19:39
You know, I am happy that I am because I've learned so much about myself through the

00:19:43
journey, that I am stronger than I I actually thought I was.

00:19:47
Right?

00:19:47
Like, I don't need to rely on others to for my happiness, for my success.

00:19:51
Like, I can I can do it?

00:19:52
Right?

00:19:53
And so, yeah, I think the entrepreneurial grind is not for everyone.

00:19:57
I think that's, like, a a real heart check to be, like, when when it's the mud, right, when

00:20:02
you're going through the valleys and the mud, like, do you rise, or, like, do you do you

00:20:06
crumble and, like, run for help?

00:20:07
Right?

00:20:07
And so it's, like, sometimes it's good to ask for help, obviously.

00:20:10
I don't mean that.

00:20:10
But you know, like, how do you respond to that?

00:20:13
So kudos to you.

00:20:13
That's that's Yeah.

00:20:14
That's awesome.

00:20:14
I think all three of us are in that same mindset.

00:20:17
Yeah.

00:20:17
Shout out to you too.

00:20:18
I mean, I think that we've gotten to just know each other, obviously, really, really well.

00:20:23
But that's one of the mad respects that I just have for you.

00:20:26
Because I've gotten to know his family.

00:20:27
I've gotten to know the environment a little bit more.

00:20:30
And, like, you are.

00:20:32
You're the black sheep.

00:20:33
The reality is, like

00:20:35
Yeah.

00:20:35
You made, yeah, you definitely made that decision.

00:20:38
Yeah.

00:20:39
And, I got mad respect for you, brother.

00:20:41
Yeah.

00:20:41
I appreciate you, man.

00:20:42
Thank you.

00:20:42
It's not easy.

00:20:43
Yeah.

00:20:44
Well, tell us a little bit about, you know, the focus of the podcast.

00:20:47
It's called minutes of positivity.

00:20:48
So it's very much mindset focused.

00:20:50
What do you talk about?

00:20:51
Like, what do you get into and kind of what are maybe some of the top you know, top 3 kind of

00:20:56
topics that you you dial on?

00:20:58
So I have different guests on, and each one represents something different.

00:20:58
So I just had a professional boxer

00:20:59
on there, Willie, Monroe, talked a lot about mindset boxing health and what that's done for

00:21:12
him in his life and

00:21:14
the trajectory of his life being, you know, having that kind of structure and all that kind

00:21:14
of stuff.

00:21:14
And he talked a lot about mindset and that.

00:21:14
So I loved that.

00:21:14
And then I had somebody on there Bridget Gibson who talked a lot about just positivity and

00:21:28
looking at the world from a different view and what that can do for you.

00:21:32
So it's really about minutes of positivity, right, is just it's essentially a big umbrella.

00:21:39
And I wanted it to be something where any kind of story could be told, but there's a they're

00:21:47
there to tell the story, which is a positive.

00:21:50
And no matter how dark or how light it is, like, we all go through things.

00:21:57
And so I wanted to to provide a space that was safe enough for people to to share their

00:22:03
stories so that somebody else could hear it and laugh, which is positive.

00:22:10
Cry, which is positive.

00:22:12
You feel seen, heard, you realize you're not alone, all those kinds of things.

00:22:17
And so I guess I wanted to create a space that I wish I had at times.

00:22:23
Me too.

00:22:24
Yeah.

00:22:24
And so, especially during the times where I felt the most alone, I wish I had something

00:22:31
where I, you know, Oh, it does get better.

00:22:34
And, you know, so I guess I'm just creating creating what I I wish I had.

00:22:41
And so minutes of positivity is to showcase that.

00:22:46
It's to showcase my journey as well because I've had such an incredible mind shift.

00:22:52
And I I see the reality of doing that and the benefits of of having a positive mindset, what

00:23:00
it can do for you and your daily living.

00:23:02
And so I just launched, actually, a moment of positivity segment where I'll be talking a lot

00:23:10
more about that kind of stuff and showing myself more because a lot of people are like,

00:23:14
okay.

00:23:14
But we're not seeing as much of you.

00:23:16
And so I still have my interviews, which I love doing because I love sitting down and hearing

00:23:21
people's stories.

00:23:22
But now my story is also going to slowly be shared, and I'm excited about that.

00:23:28
That's that's really cool.

00:23:29
Yeah.

00:23:30
So tell us, you went through a shift over really the past year.

00:23:34
You said you almost lost, like, £30 Yeah.

00:23:37
So I'm assuming fitness isn't incorporated into that.

00:23:40
And then how is that blended into, like, the mindset and the positivity of all that?

00:23:46
So I, my, for a majority of my life, have had a pretty nasty gut I had suffered for years with

00:23:54
IBS, and I would have all these colonoscopies, and they would tell me that my colon looks

00:23:58
good.

00:23:59
And we could never figure out what was wrong with my stomach.

00:24:04
And I was definitely one of those people who did a lot of the, okay, I'll try this diet, and

00:24:10
then I would lose weight really fast.

00:24:12
And then I would gain it all back times 2.

00:24:15
And I was like, what is going on?

00:24:18
And I was a college athlete.

00:24:20
So what was interesting about that is when I when I and I think this happens often is when I

00:24:27
was going into my masters, I gained a lot of weight because I was no longer training for

00:24:32
something particular.

00:24:34
And that throws your mind off a little bit because you're like, well, I don't need to go

00:24:38
to the gym because I don't have to practice or I don't have to play.

00:24:40
So it's not really a big deal.

00:24:43
And, that was a lot.

00:24:47
And so then when I graduated.

00:24:50
I lost a lot of weight, and then we hit COVID.

00:24:52
And I gained it all back.

00:24:53
And then I moved here, and I was probably at my heaviest.

00:24:57
And it wasn't until I think I was 25 and I got tested.

00:25:02
My cholesterol was at 290.

00:25:05
And I remember I was sitting at the breakfast table with my grandparents, and my grandfather

00:25:11
said, I have to take my medication.

00:25:12
I said, oh, yeah.

00:25:13
Me too.

00:25:13
I'll grab yours as well.

00:25:17
And my grandmother, my grandfather, and I all took the same cholesterol medication.

00:25:21
Oh, man.

00:25:22
And I thought, oh, something has to change.

00:25:25
Yeah.

00:25:26
Like, this is crazy.

00:25:30
So I I was put on medication because I needed to get it down quickly.

00:25:36
And then we got I got off of it, and I saw a gastro who was had a nutritionist attached to

00:25:43
the practice so that they could work together on my system and basically restarted my entire

00:25:52
gut.

00:25:53
And so that was a process.

00:25:55
And then I started that in June, October, I quit my job.

00:26:03
And then by November, I started to notice.

00:26:07
I was like, oh, I'm starting to lose weight.

00:26:08
Like, okay.

00:26:09
This is working.

00:26:11
And I was eating really clean, I was working out like I had never before.

00:26:16
I didn't even train like this in college.

00:26:18
And then by February, it melted off my body.

00:26:18
And I had to learn patience with it because I realized I was healing my gut, so I knew I had

00:26:30
to be patient.

00:26:32
It was different than just losing weight.

00:26:34
It was Yeah.

00:26:35
I just got to a point where I said, I just want a healthy body.

00:26:39
And whatever I look like, I look like.

00:26:41
I just need a healthy body.

00:26:43
At this point.

00:26:44
And I just started making some serious, serious changes and just started changing how I think

00:26:50
about it too.

00:26:51
I'm like, I get to do this.

00:26:52
I get to work out.

00:26:55
I have the ability and it just started melting off my body.

00:27:00
And this has been the longest, I think, in my life where I've actually maintained a physique

00:27:06
because I did it the most natural, efficient, patient way I could.

00:27:10
You dump that huge stress too of that job.

00:27:12
Oh.

00:27:12
You

00:27:13
gotta wear any down.

00:27:13
That was, like, £15.

00:27:15
It was like, I quit that.

00:27:16
I was like, woah.

00:27:17
My clothes fit looser.

00:27:18
I started functioning on a more of, like, optimal level for sure.

00:27:22
And and people don't realize how much stress affects the gut.

00:27:24
Right?

00:27:25
Totally.

00:27:25
Your body's stressed, it's like, let's not worry about this.

00:27:28
Let's just, like, keep the lights on right now.

00:27:30
You know?

00:27:30
And it's not gonna handle all the other stuff that needs to be addressed.

00:27:33
So Yeah.

00:27:34
That survival mode is crazy.

00:27:37
And what it does to your mind and your body, there was a moment where I thought I was just

00:27:44
never gonna not live without feeling anxiety.

00:27:48
And I started to really I I was working with my life coach, and I said, I something has to

00:27:54
change.

00:27:55
I'm in shambles at this point.

00:27:57
I'm spiraling.

00:27:59
I feel I quit my job.

00:28:01
I'm doing all these things, but I'm actually not doing anything.

00:28:04
It was almost like I needed a little bit of time to be don't wanna say rebellious, but I

00:28:13
need k.

00:28:14
One second.

00:28:15
Just Scott's nice and

00:28:17
Oh, there we go.

00:28:19
We got time, though.

00:28:19
I didn't

00:28:19
know that was auto attendant.

00:28:21
That was funny.

00:28:23
I didn't know we were being that still.

00:28:25
That's pretty

00:28:25
impressive.

00:28:25
Yeah.

00:28:26
That's pretty impressive.

00:28:26
That's good.

00:28:28
But there was

00:28:28
a time period there for a minute where I think I needed to

00:28:28
be a little bit rebellious because I Right?

00:28:39
Like, I I went to college.

00:28:41
I was a college athlete.

00:28:42
I danced in college.

00:28:43
I did all the I was in RA.

00:28:45
I then went immediately after got my masters immediately after that was in a big girl job

00:28:50
and was doing all these things.

00:28:52
I never got to just rage.

00:28:55
You know?

00:28:56
Like, I feel like I just I

00:28:57
finally got to be a twenty something year old.

00:28:57
And I was working in the

00:28:58
restaurant business, the restaurant industry, and I just kinda did that.

00:28:58
And then I got to a point where I was like, okay.

00:29:09
I don't like how all of this feels.

00:29:11
It's sustainable.

00:29:11
You know, and, like, I can't do this.

00:29:14
I'm I'm surrounded by peep this doesn't none of this is making something.

00:29:18
And I just so I started reading this book, positive intelligence, and that changed.

00:29:23
Everything for me.

00:29:24
It's such an incredible book.

00:29:26
I my roommate says I should be the poster child for the book, and I would agree with that.

00:29:32
Because it did it.

00:29:33
It my life coach told me you need to read this book.

00:29:35
It's time.

00:29:36
And I read it in the first chapter I texted him.

00:29:39
And I was like, so this is a personal attack, and I don't like it.

00:29:42
And he goes, you call me when you're done.

00:29:46
And it was like, I had to reintroduce myself to him.

00:29:48
It changed my entire mindset, and then things started happening.

00:29:53
I quit that job and went to a different restaurant industry or different restaurant

00:29:58
job.

00:29:58
And the way that I treat that job is way different than the one I than I used to.

00:30:03
I started really putting myself out there.

00:30:05
I was doing a lot more things with acting because I was in acting school for 2 years,

00:30:09
actually 3 years, and still am.

00:30:13
And so I just, like, things started.

00:30:15
The ball started actually rolling.

00:30:18
And so as much as I was taking care of myself, I wasn't taking care of myself.

00:30:25
And then I started to really put all of that stuff in motion.

00:30:31
And I remember one day I just sat down on the couch, and it was still.

00:30:39
And I started crying.

00:30:41
I was like, why am I crying?

00:30:43
I'm like, is it that time of the month?

00:30:44
Like, why am I crying?

00:30:46
I felt peace.

00:30:49
And I realized I hadn't had anxiety for, like, 3 days.

00:30:53
And I was like, it is possible.

00:30:57
It is possible to live without that survival mode 247.

00:31:04
It's not normal.

00:31:06
To live in that.

00:31:08
And now I live 80% in peace.

00:31:11
And so when I am anxious, I know exactly what that feels like.

00:31:14
I know where it sits.

00:31:15
I know why.

00:31:17
And I just have so much more control over my health, my mental stability, my spirituality,

00:31:24
everything, and it just all somehow, like, came together.

00:31:29
And now I feel ready to take on my career differently, my health differently, and keep

00:31:35
doing that because I feel prepared.

00:31:38
Whereas, like, last year, I was like, I'm not prepared.

00:31:40
Why did I quit my job?

00:31:41
I'm not prepared, but I needed that I needed that year to just kinda go batshit crazy for a

00:31:48
second so that I needed to go as honestly, I had to hit, like, a rock bottom, a version of

00:31:56
that for me to go.

00:31:57
Okay.

00:31:57
It's time to wake up.

00:31:58
Yeah.

00:31:59
Sometimes that's what it takes.

00:32:00
Yeah.

00:32:01
Unfortunately.

00:32:02
But we talk, you know, we talk a lot about, like, the pillars of life and, like, having

00:32:06
balance in in a way, right, if if you're super focused in your career, that's a good thing.

00:32:12
But if it starts to suck from other areas, right, your fitness is low or your your

00:32:16
unhealthy there, or your mindset is crap, but you're super fit.

00:32:19
Like, that's not proper balance.

00:32:21
Right?

00:32:21
The buy is a it's an unsustainable thing.

00:32:23
You gotta have all these things kind of in check.

00:32:25
Right?

00:32:25
So we're very focused on that.

00:32:27
So it sounds like that's kinda what you went through.

00:32:28
It's like you were like, alright.

00:32:29
Like, this thing's good.

00:32:31
This is shit.

00:32:32
Like, this is good.

00:32:33
I kinda like, how do I stack

00:32:35
it on?

00:32:35
Nothing was aligning.

00:32:36
Everything was Right.

00:32:37
I would get something really good, and then something else was really in the gutter.

00:32:41
And I was like, how do the how are are any of these gonna align?

00:32:45
And now I feel the most balanced.

00:32:48
I'm like, okay.

00:32:50
I can handle anything at this point.

00:32:51
I'm like, I got it.

00:32:52
Yeah.

00:32:53
Yeah.

00:32:53
That's awesome.

00:32:53
There's a book that I just finished reading.

00:32:56
It was play a bigger game, but he was saying he was basically talking about we have pillars

00:33:01
that we essentially work on and we kinda live by in terms of our core values, Alfred and

00:33:06
myself, but he he gave a good context of it, and it's exactly what you were saying.

00:33:12
There's burners.

00:33:12
Right?

00:33:13
And so there's burners that you put up, and then there's also burners that you kinda, like,

00:33:18
temperature down.

00:33:19
They're not off, but they temperature down.

00:33:22
And so it's this concept of we're in a season of businesses business right now.

00:33:28
So, like, it's very hectic, but then there's also what burners can you have at, like, a

00:33:34
relatively high heat, but

00:33:35
then not sacrifice other things.

00:33:35
And so for me, yeah, I my priority, like, my health is very much priority.

00:33:43
And so I focus, like, that burner's relatively high right now.

00:33:46
I wouldn't say that it's at its highest because when we're working out, it's 45 minutes to an

00:33:51
hour and we're done.

00:33:52
Like, we're jacked.

00:33:54
But people don't realize, like, we put in the attention of the workout.

00:33:57
We talked about this in the podcast of just being super intentional with our workouts,

00:34:00
and they

00:34:01
were out.

00:34:01
Right?

00:34:01
Right.

00:34:02
It's a

00:34:02
and then we're back to work.

00:34:04
So you would think on Instagram, though, the way we post workout all the time.

00:34:07
That's not the case.

00:34:09
So we're, like, hyper focused with our workouts.

00:34:11
We're hyper focused with our nutrition, but we got kids at the end of the day.

00:34:15
And so in the season of life, that burner's really hot.

00:34:18
Mhmm.

00:34:19
And because I'm not gonna miss out on their life.

00:34:21
Like, I got 3 girls, and I'm not gonna miss out on the seasonality of that because I know that

00:34:25
Genevieve's gonna turn 18.

00:34:27
I know that not this year.

00:34:29
She's at 8 right now.

00:34:30
She will be 18.

00:34:31
Yeah.

00:34:32
Sure.

00:34:32
And so it's like putting that in the spectrum of where that heat check is.

00:34:36
Whereas when she's probably 15 or 16 and she's hanging out with her friends, and I'm not the

00:34:41
most important in the world that you you person in there.

00:34:44
Like, things do dial differently, and the burner comes on differently.

00:34:48
Right?

00:34:48
I might I might choose to do an iron man during that time frame because, like, I had maybe had

00:34:53
the capacity to really dial in some training.

00:34:56
I'm not gonna do that right now because I know the training that that takes.

00:34:59
Yeah.

00:34:59
And so it's these burners that you can put on.

00:35:03
Of course, when you're, like, you're single and you have, like, the maximum capacity of time,

00:35:07
there's a few burners you can put on.

00:35:09
But I I thought about that process of, like, being able to temperature check those burners

00:35:14
of what we say no to and what we say yes to.

00:35:17
And then being able to, you know, put it at a high heat, then put something at a relatively

00:35:21
low heat.

00:35:21
But when you can pull those strings, you become well optimized.

00:35:25
Yeah.

00:35:26
On that point too, like, pulling the strings, like, how do you elevate one without

00:35:29
sacrificing another.

00:35:31
And I think that's where it comes to, like, those efficiencies that you put in or, like,

00:35:35
like, tactile things that you can do to make

00:35:38
the workout less time expensive so that you can free up time for other things without

00:35:38
sacrificing the

00:35:38
benefits of that work out.

00:35:45
Right?

00:35:45
And that's what we talked about with Jerry was, like, circuit training versus, you know,

00:35:50
traditional body building sitting on your phone for an hour a half.

00:35:53
And people who are like, yeah.

00:35:54
I go to

00:35:54
the gym for 2 hours.

00:35:55
I'm like, wish I could.

00:35:56
Love the gym.

00:35:57
One of my favorite places in the planet don't have the time to do it for 2 hours.

00:36:01
Right?

00:36:01
So, like, 45 minutes, get it done, like, hyper focused, hyper efficient, free up some time,

00:36:07
still got a great workout, probably better, right, than an unfocused workout.

00:36:10
Totally.

00:36:11
And now there's more time for something else.

00:36:13
So now I can elevate multiple pillars at the same time.

00:36:15
Right?

00:36:15
Now maybe I have another 30 minutes.

00:36:17
I can re I could probably read a half a buck in that amount of time.

00:36:20
Right?

00:36:20
So, you know, and then also, right, like, you talk about with, like, the the gym quick method

00:36:25
of speed reading or, like, like, like, focused, speed reading where you can do that.

00:36:29
I can get through a half of a book in, like, a morning.

00:36:31
You know what I mean?

00:36:32
And, like, that if I didn't have that that tactile thing, so let's do this.

00:36:37
Let's for, like, the mindset thing, give us a couple ways that you, like, focus on maybe

00:36:41
with, like, your guests or or just in your personal life, like, like, tactile things that

00:36:46
you do to shift, say, mindset into that positivity, right, to free ourselves from

00:36:51
getting, you know, just getting burden.

00:36:53
Yeah.

00:36:54
So things I do for myself that

00:36:56
have helped, I will say, in setting boundaries too, because I think I

00:36:56
again, I I call myself a recovering people pleaser because I put

00:36:56
I was I loved helping everybody else.

00:37:13
And I would take on this.

00:37:14
I'm like, I'm this martyr.

00:37:15
Like, I put everyone before me.

00:37:16
Okay.

00:37:16
That's crazy.

00:37:16
Just so you know, that's not how it, you know, you have to put yourself first so that you can

00:37:16
be the best version for these people.

00:37:26
And so I didn't I learned that the harder way.

00:37:30
But here

00:37:30
we are.

00:37:30
So some things I

00:37:30
do to make sure that I'm efficient for my day

00:37:30
is when I wake up, like most people, I don't go on my phone.

00:37:43
That is just my thing.

00:37:45
I don't

00:37:46
think that's like most people.

00:37:48
Well, I think most people go on their phone

00:37:50
as well.

00:37:50
Oh, yeah.

00:37:50
Oh, yeah.

00:37:51
Yeah.

00:37:51
Yeah.

00:37:51
That's

00:37:51
how we move out.

00:37:52
Okay.

00:37:52
Gotcha.

00:37:53
And I also think a lot of people are like, oh, I don't go my phone, but then, you know,

00:37:56
they're they're posting that they don't go on their phone.

00:37:58
You know?

00:37:59
They're like, wait.

00:38:00
I'm confused.

00:38:00
Yeah.

00:38:02
You're on your phone.

00:38:04
But I I don't I don't go on any social media till I give myself till, like, 9 AM because I'm

00:38:10
usually up before that.

00:38:11
Okay.

00:38:12
And so I give myself till 9, and sometimes it's past that because I'm already distracted and

00:38:18
doing other things.

00:38:19
I really enjoy I've really enjoyed journaling lately, over the last year, as I was

00:38:25
transitioning out of that, like, chaotic stage, I started to really tap into journaling and

00:38:30
being honest with myself.

00:38:32
And I have a separate manifestation journal.

00:38:35
So they're very different ones for just my my thoughts, and the other one is to speak kindly

00:38:40
to myself.

00:38:43
And I do that.

00:38:44
I speak very kindly to myself.

00:38:46
I I always say, like, last year, I no one could speak worse to me than I did.

00:38:52
And now no one can speak kinder to me than I do.

00:38:56
Because I think it's it's just shifting your, dialogue in your head and understanding whose

00:39:06
voice is speaking at the time in which, you know, because we all have a judge Like, is that

00:39:11
your voice, or is that someone else's projection?

00:39:13
And are you?

00:39:14
And so I am very mindful of the way I talk to myself.

00:39:21
I'm very mindful of the way I talk about myself to others.

00:39:25
And I also don't do anything with anybody until after 10 AM.

00:39:32
So if I have a doctor's appointment, it's not till after 10.

00:39:35
I don't schedule anything before 10 AM.

00:39:37
So that allows me to either have a slow morning if I need it or get and go get a workout in or

00:39:44
go for a walk or do all the things that just allows me to be with myself before I then go

00:39:51
ahead and entertain.

00:39:53
Anyone else.

00:39:54
And I try not to take phone calls or anything before that as well.

00:39:57
So, like, I really have focused on sitting with myself so that I can be better for when other

00:40:06
people you know, come to me.

00:40:08
I have enough energy to to navigate them.

00:40:13
But a lot of things that that people have come on to my podcast and have talked about in terms

00:40:20
of mindset.

00:40:21
Have all been around the dialogue in which we talk to ourselves.

00:40:25
I

00:40:25
know your monologue is.

00:40:26
Yeah.

00:40:26
And how much of a difference that has made.

00:40:30
And something that I've adopted is the thank you more, please.

00:40:34
And it's where when something good happens to you, someone compliments you.

00:40:40
If you get a new patient, if, you know, whatever it is, if it feels good, you say thank

00:40:49
you more, please, which allows that energy to go out to the universe or whomever you believe

00:40:57
in, god, that you were acknowledging the gift that was just given to you.

00:41:03
And that you would like more of it.

00:41:06
And I'm telling you that has changed my perspective because now I'm seeking for those

00:41:13
moments.

00:41:14
And I started to just adjust my brain.

00:41:21
I'd wake up, and I'd say, like, today is a great day.

00:41:25
And I'm gonna have a great day, and I'm gonna make a lot of money at work today.

00:41:29
And when I would get a good tip, I would say thank you to them.

00:41:32
I'd walk away and I'd be like, more please.

00:41:33
And then I'd get another tip, and then I get an and it was because then all of a sudden, my

00:41:39
energy changed because now I'm seeking that positivity.

00:41:43
I'm seeking that high vibrating energy without realizing I'm the one that's putting it out

00:41:49
there.

00:41:50
Yeah.

00:41:51
And so I've had people say to me, like, I'd I I've had people say, like, I struggle sometimes

00:41:56
being around you because you operate at such a high vibration.

00:41:58
They're not vibrating as high as you are.

00:42:00
Yeah.

00:42:00
I make Like, what is that?

00:42:02
Jake is talking about?

00:42:03
He's like, they can't, like, like, see you or they can't, like, they can't, like, pick up on

00:42:09
it.

00:42:09
Right?

00:42:09
Like, they're they feel threatened, or they feel like, that's when people, like, judge.

00:42:14
Right?

00:42:14
It's that they feel like whoever they're judging.

00:42:16
They're actually jealous of, and that jealousy is such a low vibration.

00:42:20
They're, like, they're so down here.

00:42:22
You know?

00:42:22
Well, I I think too when you make shifts in your life and the people around you, it puts a

00:42:27
mirror to them.

00:42:29
And if they don't like the reflection, they they're gonna come at you.

00:42:33
And I've had to deal with that.

00:42:35
I've had to adjust to the fact that, you know, a lot of it's not about me.

00:42:40
Like, that's not that's about them.

00:42:43
You know, they must feel some type of their they're looking internally and don't like

00:42:47
something because I've done that where I somebody's done something or said something and

00:42:51
I'm like, oh, should I?

00:42:53
And now all of a sudden, I'm insecure.

00:42:55
And so I think that when I stopped looking at everybody else or stopped looking for all this

00:43:01
validation and and just started to look within and decided, what kind of a partner do I wanna

00:43:06
be?

00:43:06
What kind of a friend do I wanna be?

00:43:08
And deciding the kinds of energy I wanted to attract, I just started becoming that energy.

00:43:17
And then as a result, I have attracted some of the best people.

00:43:21
I've had some of the great some great networking events.

00:43:24
I've done some really good acting things because I think now I just operate in that

00:43:29
energy.

00:43:30
And I'm not going to apologize for operating in that energy because you don't know what it took

00:43:36
for me to get there.

00:43:37
If you ever read the book, by Steven Hawkins Power Versus Fors.

00:43:42
I've heard of it.

00:43:43
Oh, man.

00:43:43
It's such a good one.

00:43:44
I I'll I'll look that up for sure.

00:43:46
You're basically speaking the alignment of that, but, like, they took, it was graded out

00:43:50
of a scale.

00:43:51
Right?

00:43:51
And so you take Jesus, Gandhi, mother, Theresa, and then the vibrations of frequency at which

00:43:58
they operate.

00:43:58
And, like, Jesus is near, like, near perfection or

00:44:01
perfection and

00:44:02
quite a 1000.

00:44:03
Right?

00:44:04
But then, the vibration of frequency was, like, on a scale of 1 to a 100.

00:44:08
And then Hitler was, like, in the 100 to 200, but he did his, like, withdrew force.

00:44:14
Right?

00:44:15
And then they gained their power through the laws of attraction.

00:44:18
So, like, the laws of which they vibrated.

00:44:20
Right?

00:44:21
And they built, that off of it, but he talks about, I mean, it's a dense book.

00:44:25
So if you read it, it's dense.

00:44:27
You're not speed reading that.

00:44:29
You're not speed reading that one now.

00:44:31
But it's dense, but it the whole it encapsulates, like, some of the thinkers,

00:44:37
right, of what Gandhi did and how he, you know, he started out as 1.

00:44:42
And then, like, what was it?

00:44:43
Like, 10 people around him when he reached the sea.

00:44:46
And then, mother Theresa on how, like, that attraction occurred because she was just there.

00:44:51
And so she was operating at, like, 7.50.

00:44:54
Majority of people operate.

00:44:55
Like, I think he said, that the United States operates in this 3 to 400 range, which is,

00:45:02
like, kind of that borderline negative mentality versus, like, they're slightly

00:45:07
positive.

00:45:07
You know what I mean?

00:45:08
Right.

00:45:09
It's survival.

00:45:09
It's survival.

00:45:10
It's complete survival.

00:45:12
You're alive.

00:45:12
You can now have.

00:45:13
Yeah.

00:45:14
You're breathing.

00:45:14
You can now have power, though, like, when you operate low.

00:45:18
So he was just given an imagery of Hitler on how, like, you can have that power, but there

00:45:22
was there was no joy in that.

00:45:24
Right?

00:45:25
You're just massacring people.

00:45:26
I'm actually reading, the book right now by, oh, man, drawing a blank on the name, really

00:45:34
good man search for meaning.

00:45:36
And it was basically this doctor in a concentration camp that takes you the the

00:45:41
entire way through it, but what kept him alive was the fact that he had a vision of his wife

00:45:48
and meeting his wife again and embracing her.

00:45:51
And it's like it's a really, like, it's a brutal story.

00:45:54
Yeah.

00:45:55
Like, you could you could just feel it.

00:45:57
But the vibration at which he operate operated was allowed him to go through where some

00:46:03
people, they didn't know when the end would come in terms of the war.

00:46:06
And they were the how the Jews killed themselves.

00:46:09
They would run into electric fences.

00:46:11
And so there was a couple days before they were liberated.

00:46:14
There were people killing themselves because they just didn't know the end.

00:46:18
But it's so it's anyways, the point is is, like, you you get a choice to live at that

00:46:24
frequency.

00:46:24
Yes.

00:46:25
And so, like, that choice is a day by day and those thoughts compound in terms of that level

00:46:30
of positivity and the power of self talk.

00:46:32
I take it back to this.

00:46:34
Like, what kind of and I don't think it's a bad thing.

00:46:37
I think Michael Jordan did a lot.

00:46:38
Not that I'm comparing myself to Michael But, I think Michael George maybe a little bit of Kobe

00:46:43
Brian did this, but, like, they had a chip on their shoulders.

00:46:47
Like, they they were like, look, I'm gonna be the greatest and, like, you're gonna then then

00:46:50
they forced the greatest around them.

00:46:53
But, like, for me, when I started out, it was always like, I was thinking back to, like,

00:46:59
people that I'm like, they want me to fail.

00:47:02
So I'm gonna get after.

00:47:03
Yeah.

00:47:03
Like, I wanna just get after it.

00:47:05
Right?

00:47:05
Cause I know they want me to fail.

00:47:07
And so, like, there's that chip that might be good, but then at the end of the time, is there

00:47:12
joy in the presence of that?

00:47:14
What vibration are you talking?

00:47:15
Like, you're talking about as far as what your frequency yet?

00:47:18
And so now my mindset is completely shifted similar to yours where the way I speak to

00:47:24
myself is I give myself authority.

00:47:27
I give myself, like, that, like, yes, I can come in.

00:47:30
I am in alpha, but at the end of the day, I can let other people lead.

00:47:34
I can I can step down and I can say, hey, dude, I wanna elevate you?

00:47:39
And that is, like, one of the, I mean, you get so much from that when you can elevate

00:47:45
somebody.

00:47:45
So anyways, for for what it's worth, I read a lot of books.

00:47:49
Yeah.

00:47:49
No.

00:47:49
I and I want a bigger brain on that.

00:47:52
I I would agree.

00:47:53
I think I there was a time too where I was just like, well, I'm gonna do it because everybody

00:47:57
else thinks I can't.

00:47:58
You know?

00:47:59
And I think to some degree, it's okay to use that energy to fuel you at times.

00:48:08
Right now, it's interesting.

00:48:10
I I recently wrote in my journal that I wanna do it for the time period that I didn't think

00:48:16
that I could.

00:48:17
Like, I wanna do it for the version of me that didn't think that I could.

00:48:21
That questioned whether or not I was strong enough, capable enough, resilient enough.

00:48:25
I wanna prove to her that I can because I can see my future self.

00:48:31
And I talked to her.

00:48:32
I sit down with her and have lunch with her often.

00:48:34
And I'm like, so how are we doing?

00:48:36
What, like, what do I need to be doing right now?

00:48:39
You look great, by the way.

00:48:40
You know?

00:48:41
Like, I will talk to my future self because I know that she is waiting for me.

00:48:46
And I'm just trying to be as present as I can because I'm

00:48:52
I'm also acting like her, what I think my future self would be doing.

00:48:52
And it's it sometimes just those baby steps.

00:48:53
Like, I wanna be able to read my book in the morning, you know, one day before my kids wake

00:49:05
up and and just practicing those habits now.

00:49:07
I'm not saying that that I'll I will do it every day.

00:49:10
I know that life is life, but it's I'm creating healthy habits that I didn't have growing up.

00:49:16
That's right.

00:49:17
And I'm creating a lifestyle that essentially I just I'm just I see for myself.

00:49:23
And so I think it all it all started when I just switched my dialogue and even talking, I I

00:49:32
did a photo shoot because I I do modeling stuff as well.

00:49:35
And I I did a photo shoot, and my photographer and I were talking, and I loved every photo.

00:49:41
Now there was a time in my life where I would have hated every photo except for maybe one I

00:49:46
loved every photo.

00:49:48
There were 2 photos that were not flattering.

00:49:53
So I sent them to him and I said, hey.

00:49:56
I love all the photos including these, but these are my least favorite.

00:50:00
He said, why?

00:50:01
I said, because the angle in which I'm standing is not flattering to my body.

00:50:09
So if we could just use some of the other ones, that would be great.

00:50:12
And he was like, yeah.

00:50:12
No problem.

00:50:14
And just that difference in the way I would have said it a year ago, I would have been

00:50:18
like, first of all, I look, and I would have just destroyed myself.

00:50:22
Yeah.

00:50:22
When all it was was the angle of the photo, And so it's just the way I I speak not only to

00:50:31
myself, but when I'm talking to others about myself, and I had someone say to me, how do you

00:50:37
get like that?

00:50:38
Did she get like what?

00:50:40
They said, do you really love your body?

00:50:42
I said, yeah.

00:50:43
I do.

00:50:43
I said, and I loved it.

00:50:45
You know, I've learned to love what it used to be too because it got me through a lot of

00:50:48
things.

00:50:49
I didn't think that then, but, you know, And they said and I think that it there's a

00:50:55
misconception that because I lost weight all of a sudden I'm, you know, don't have any type of

00:51:02
dysmorphia or I don't struggle with body image or it you know, I don't have still the mindset

00:51:06
there.

00:51:08
However, I said, yeah.

00:51:09
I do love my body.

00:51:10
It's healthy, and I get to work out.

00:51:13
And I I have the privilege of doing that, and I get to walk, and I get to work, and do all

00:51:17
those things.

00:51:19
And she asked me, how do I get there?

00:51:22
She was, do you just trick your brain?

00:51:23
I go, you literally have to trick your brain.

00:51:27
And just like working out, you practice that every day.

00:51:30
And I I do believe that the way that I train and the way I work out and going when I didn't

00:51:37
want to and being able to lose weight, but also maintain it and get through the mind shift is

00:51:40
what's gonna get me through my career too because at the toughest times where I'm like, I

00:51:40
don't wanna be an actress.

00:51:40
I don't wanna do this.

00:51:40
I'm I'm like, no.

00:51:50
Resetting all these patterns that you had since you were super young.

00:51:54
I was saying I was super insecure kid too, and you had to kinda just, like, overcome these

00:51:58
things.

00:51:58
Right?

00:51:59
And there's still times where I'm like, oh, man, I gotta get more chapter.

00:52:02
Like, you know, like, but for me, it's more of, like, the feeling of it.

00:52:05
But one thing I wanted to kinda touch on was something that I has been super impactful in my

00:52:10
life and that I've learned is

00:52:10
that when you serve others, that vibration is so high that, like, it, like, can't help but

00:52:10
deliver you stuff.

00:52:10
Like, right?

00:52:11
And so, like, I got into, you know, the field that I'm in where I'm a doctor and I'm but I'm

00:52:24
also this entrepreneur, and I have to keep this business running.

00:52:26
So there's that fine line between I am serving people, but they pay me money to do so.

00:52:30
Yeah.

00:52:30
You know, you can you can be having a lower month or something, and you're like, alright.

00:52:33
We gotta collect some money.

00:52:34
So let's get people in the door and let's get people on these care plans and stuff.

00:52:38
And, like, that that just focuses so much on the numbers that you stop serving people, and

00:52:42
it all goes downhill.

00:52:43
Right?

00:52:43
And so, like, that mindset shift has always been for me.

00:52:45
It's like, alright.

00:52:45
Where are we?

00:52:45
Like, doesn't even matter about the money.

00:52:45
I'm gonna serve this person in front of me to the best that they deserve serve, whatever they

00:52:53
choose to do, they'll choose to do.

00:52:55
And what they end up choosing to do is pay me a lot of money to help them get better.

00:52:58
And it's because they want to, and they realize that the the truth of it is that, like, I'm

00:53:02
just focused on, like, helping them.

00:53:04
You know what I mean?

00:53:04
And, like,

00:53:05
everyone in our clinic too.

00:53:06
And so I have to, like, always bring that back to the the, bring back to homes because, like,

00:53:10
that's what got me through, like, some hard stuff in my life too.

00:53:12
It was, like, stop focusing on myself and my pity party and that and just go serve other

00:53:17
people and, like, you can't then focus on the negative because you're so focused on that.

00:53:21
Yeah.

00:53:21
And it's it's it's massive.

00:53:23
And I think too, like, I, I mean, I'm I'm doing this podcast, and I'm not making money

00:53:28
necessarily.

00:53:29
I'm not making any money off of it, and I'm still choosing to do it every day.

00:53:33
And I'm like, I I know one day that will all come and it's still bringing me joy.

00:53:38
So that just tells me, like, I'm on the right path because all you ever wanna do is wake up

00:53:42
and be happy.

00:53:43
Okay.

00:53:44
And I wake up, and I'm happy, and I'm grateful.

00:53:46
And

00:53:47
You're doing good work.

00:53:48
That's all.

00:53:49
Yeah.

00:53:49
