00:00:00
I think, you know, one thing we always talk about specifically the cadence at which we

00:00:05
operate, within clinic and it really honestly everything we do.

00:00:08
We had this conversation yesterday, but like, how do we go above and beyond?

00:00:13
Like, what is that level of care that's above and beyond?

00:00:15
I always go back to the Ritz Carlton, right?

00:00:18

And so, that's how we want our patients.

Welcome back to another episode of Health Decoded.

00:01:59
I'm your host, doctor Alessi.

00:02:01
And your cohost, Matt Tack.

00:02:03
What's up, man?

00:02:04
You have to m on the hat for Matt.

00:02:05
I like it.

00:02:06
M on the hat for Matt.

00:02:07
That's exactly right.

00:02:10
It is

00:02:10
not conceded, bro.

00:02:11
It's cool.

00:02:13
Awesome, man.

00:02:13
It's it's good to see you, brother.

00:02:16
I'm excited for this episode, you know, to kind of preface what we're going to talk about.

00:02:20
We normally have a pretty cool cadence with our shows that I think drives a lot of value and

00:02:24
people have given us feedback that they like it because it's digestible.

00:02:29
Know, with the four segments of how we approach things.

00:02:32
Sorry guys, this one's going to be a little different.

00:02:34
We're going to kind of go off script here and just be a little bit more organic with the

00:02:38
conversation, but there's a lot happening right now within the walls of our clinic as well as

00:02:44
without, you know, outside of that more on like the more virtual front, but some really cool

00:02:50
things that we want to just make sure people are aware of so they can take advantage of

00:02:53
those.

00:02:54
And so that's what we want to talk about today, man.

00:02:57
Yeah, I'm really excited.

00:02:58
We got a lot of exciting things going on with our podcast and even at the clinic.

00:03:03
So let's let's dig right in.

00:03:06
Yeah, man.

00:03:06
So let's just start by let's kind of chat a little bit about you know, number one is we are

00:03:12
bringing on another doc very shortly like ideally within the next month month and a half

00:03:18
to just help better serve our patients you know we've seen that we've gotten pretty busy and

00:03:24
doctor Rennie is doing an awesome job.

00:03:26
But there hits you know there hits a capacity where like anything right you your ability to

00:03:31
serve people to the highest level can get maxed out when you're serving a lot of people.

00:03:36
And so, rather than being like a lot of companies out there in different industries

00:03:40
where they get too busy and then their level of their quality of service goes down.

00:03:45
We're trying to proactively get ahead of that.

00:03:47
And, you know, bring on another another high level quality provider to assist our patients.

00:03:54
Definitely really looking forward to that and, you know, God leading the charge on us finding

00:03:59
somebody.

00:04:00
Yeah, I think, know, one thing we always talk about specifically, the cadence at which we

00:04:06
operate within clinic and it really honestly everything we do.

00:04:09
We had this conversation yesterday, but like, how do we go above and beyond?

00:04:14
Like, what is that level of care that's above and beyond?

00:04:17
And I always go back to the Ritz Carlton.

00:04:19
Right?

00:04:19
The Ritz Carlton has this, like when you hear the word name Ritz Carlton, right, you think

00:04:26
of, like, this concierge, this elegance, like, you're walking into the most premier hotel

00:04:31
likely in the world.

00:04:32
Right?

00:04:32
And so that's how we want our patients.

00:04:35
That's what we're building is this Ritz Carlton concierge feel.

00:04:40
And, we don't we we always wanna be the bar setter of, like, what we do.

00:04:45
And that's that's the big conversation as we're having behind the scenes as far as how we build

00:04:50
this and how we incorporate new people is that culture that we're bringing on so that people

00:04:55
do feel that way when they walk through our doors.

00:04:58
So that's I hope, you know, as a patient, you feel that way.

00:05:02
If you're listening now, like, of how we just treat people, number one, but then also the

00:05:09
care that you feel like you're getting.

00:05:11
Yeah, I think we've created an atmosphere of like, like it feels healthy, right?

00:05:17
When people walk in, there's good energy, it feels healthy.

00:05:19
Everybody on our team is like jumping up to help or go out of their way to do, you know,

00:05:24
what the patient needs.

00:05:26
And that's why people get better.

00:05:27
Because you know, when you're in an environment of negativity or you know, those kind of

00:05:32
depressive emotions, right?

00:05:33
Like people aren't going to have as good of an outcome because the energy is not there.

00:05:38
Maybe the level of trust or hope right is is lost so yeah, that's something really exciting

00:05:45
that we're both really looking forward to is adding you know just adding to our team and

00:05:50
growing ultimately.

00:05:52
And then some of the other services that we're bringing into or you know treatment systems.

00:05:58
Number one thing I'm super pumped about is the red light therapy.

00:06:01
So, we invested in a whole body red light unit.

00:06:06
There was like a production issue on their end where it got delayed about a month.

00:06:10
So, we were expecting to have it by now but it's looking like it's going to be more like

00:06:14
September.

00:06:15
But essentially, the concept of red light therapy and I actually just talked about this

00:06:19
in a previous episode is that photo biomodulation component of how the red light

00:06:24
stimulates internal mechanisms within the body for healing and repair, as well as

00:06:30
mitochondrial and energy production, and, you know, detoxification as well.

00:06:35
And so being able to pair that with some type of internal detox functional medicine, right,

00:06:41
is going to enhance just the outcomes we're able to get with our patients.

00:06:45
And that's what we're all about is like, you know, I'd say everything we do in the clinic if

00:06:49
you are a listener and you don't know by now is not just like one thing, right?

00:06:54
It's not like it's rare if somebody comes in here and does one treatment system.

00:06:58
It's like we are pairing things together because there is this summative effect that

00:07:02
comes from that.

00:07:03
And we're able to like enhance outcomes as well as shorten the time it takes to get those

00:07:08
outcomes.

00:07:08
And so it's all about like that that efficiency piece.

00:07:11
Yeah, and so you know, we've just seen that that is so much better for patients.

00:07:15
They're not going, you know, to multiple different places to get different things,

00:07:19
right?

00:07:20
They can kind of knock everything out under one roof, which is fantastic, right?

00:07:24
And that's where, honestly, you're the one who kind of came up with the idea for the three

00:07:28
pillars.

00:07:29
Why don't you touch on that real quick if people haven't listened to that episode?

00:07:33
Yeah, well, I mean, the way that we operate, it's the cadence, Of that, what you call the

00:07:41
summative effect.

00:07:42
And so, you can be, you can work on the physical, right?

00:07:46
And the physical is really important.

00:07:48
But naturally the body's gonna have inflammation built up.

00:07:52
Know, no matter what your age, there's likely gonna be some level of inflammation, right?

00:07:56
That you need to cater to.

00:07:57
We see leaky gut every single day.

00:07:59
But for me, you know, functional med was like kind of the reason why I came in originally.

00:08:04
I did have sciatic issues.

00:08:06
So I've had both of those things, and I consider myself an athlete.

00:08:10
Like, I wanna push I wanna push my body still to limits.

00:08:14
But then there's this all also this proactive approach or necessarily it kind of bleeds into

00:08:20
you getting better, maybe faster.

00:08:23
And that's the regenerative component.

00:08:25
So now we have this like physical, functional, regenerative, right?

00:08:30
And yeah, there three different pillars that we focus on, but it is the summative effect of

00:08:36
everything because you don't just want to do the physical without the functional, and you

00:08:42
don't want to do the functional without the regenerative piece too, right?

00:08:46
And so we play by our own standards and like, where are our standards?

00:08:52
And I know that you and I leading this charge is like, we are thinkers.

00:08:57
Like, we want to dabble into like new ideas and then become masters at those ideas.

00:09:04
And so we are constantly looking into various forms of, how we can improve ourselves, maybe

00:09:10
recover faster, feel better, and so operate where our standards are incrementally growing,

00:09:18
right, and climbing.

00:09:20
Where somebody might tell you as you age, oh, you're just getting old, right?

00:09:24
People say that a lot, you're getting old.

00:09:26
And the reality is, yes, I'm getting older, right?

00:09:29
I turned 40 this year.

00:09:30
But the fact is, is that I get to set the standard of what that actually physically looks

00:09:37
like when I am using all three pillars effectively.

00:09:41
And that being the physical medicine, the functional medicine, the regenerative side.

00:09:45
And so, that's what I just love is that I can add in the modalities that I need in order to

00:09:52
set that standard.

00:09:53
I don't want to be that partner in a clinic that doesn't look like the role as well.

00:10:00
And so I know like if you're if if you're outside looking in and listening to our

00:10:06
podcast, we very much set ourselves as models, for how we're going to project because we are

00:10:14
the brand, right?

00:10:15
And so I think that, you know, that is very important to us to project that brand with the

00:10:21
excellence that that we know, you know, that we want to because if you come in, there's

00:10:27
definitely gonna be a judgment factor for we weren't representing the brand well.

00:10:31
Yeah, 100%.

00:10:32
I mean, that's it's like who you going to trust, right?

00:10:35
You go to the gym and you hire personal trainer.

00:10:37
You're to trust the guys, you know, eating a donut and maybe three thousand forty pounds

00:10:41
overweight or the guy who's cut up, right?

00:10:43
You're more likely going to be like, this guy walks to talk and probably knows what he's

00:10:47
talking about.

00:10:48
That doesn't mean that the guy doesn't know anything and it doesn't have knowledge.

00:10:51
It's like somebody who can't implement that, right?

00:10:55
They just ask me all the time.

00:10:56
It's pretty funny.

00:10:57
Like we'll take an X-ray and we're going over there.

00:10:59
Shape of their spine right that lordosis in the cervical spine.

00:11:02
And they're like, do you have a perfect neck curve?

00:11:04
I'm like, it's not perfect.

00:11:06
It's only two degrees off though.

00:11:08
Like, know, do the work man like, I'm not over here telling you to do something that I

00:11:11
wouldn't do myself.

00:11:12
So, you get like setting the example and then obviously being able to lead and guide people

00:11:17
is how we operate.

00:11:18
And so, yeah, you know, adding adding more and adding more value to be able to help people

00:11:24
better faster with with enhanced outcomes is what we're all about.

00:11:30
And I think that actually comes from like our nature as athletes, right?

00:11:34
We're both athletes.

00:11:35
We still are athletes.

00:11:36
Athletes are always trying to get that edge, right?

00:11:39
Like whatever if you could get like 1% better as an athlete, you're going to do what that do

00:11:44
that thing to get you there, right?

00:11:46
That's just how we are.

00:11:47
So we pass that on to like how we want to help people as well.

00:11:51
So if we could get people 1% more relief with some type of treatment system, we're doing it.

00:11:56
And so, super exciting to have the you know, bring in the red light therapy.

00:12:01
We will keep people informed as to what that timeline looks like.

00:12:04
But within the next thirty days, I believe is realistic.

00:12:09
And then the other cool thing that we've actually been doing now for a couple months,

00:12:13
but I don't think everybody is aware is that we've brought in phlebotomy to the office.

00:12:17
So there was a bit of the probably the little constraint of when people would order blood

00:12:24
work and then they're having to wait for, you know, receiving some type of blood work kit and

00:12:29
then take it somewhere.

00:12:30
Now that's another appointment versus they're coming in, it's like, let's just knock it out

00:12:34
right now while you're in the office.

00:12:36
So, we are working on trying to expand that availability as well.

00:12:40
Currently, it's one day a week, but getting more opportunity and availability on that

00:12:45
schedule.

00:12:46
As well as we have the concierge service where we send the phlebotomist to you.

00:12:50
So, if you want to, in the middle of a busy day at work and somebody's going to show up on your

00:12:55
lunch break, tap your blood real quick and then, you know, you get back to work like

00:12:58
that's awesome.

00:12:59
And so, at work, at home, really wherever they can come out to you.

00:13:04
And we love doing that for our patients as well.

00:13:06
It's kind of that that next level it factor, right?

00:13:08
Where we're serving people.

00:13:10
So you actually did that.

00:13:12
You had someone come to your house one time because you were just in a busy season.

00:13:15
You were like, man, I can't leave the house right now.

00:13:16
I'm just got got stuff going on and so they just came to you.

00:13:20
Yep, I did the concierge and then yesterday I had a pulled in clinic, right?

00:13:24
So again, it's part of the process that we live by example.

00:13:28
So I had my blood work pulled yesterday and excited to get back the data.

00:13:32
Yeah, man.

00:13:33
And it's, know, it's like you get the data.

00:13:35
Now we have information.

00:13:36
Now we tweak certain things and we progress, right?

00:13:40
And so those are those checkpoints that all of our patients have, you know, with its

00:13:43
functional medicine.

00:13:44
We're checking in every month, every couple months, and then blood work, you know, twice a

00:13:49
year, bi annually.

00:13:50
And then with more of the physical medicine patients who are doing some type of corrective

00:13:53
protocol, it's more frequent because we're, you know, we're doing more intervention.

00:13:57
So it's like every twelve- twelve visits, probably every month or month and a half ish.

00:14:02
We're following up, following up, following up, making sure things are going in the right

00:14:06
direction.

00:14:06
We're not just guessing taking shots in the dark.

00:14:09
We're actually ahead of the game, right?

00:14:11
And so making the right modifications.

00:14:14
Other things coming up man.

00:14:15
We've got this cool challenge coming up.

00:14:17
We did a challenge back in May ish March, something like that.

00:14:21
We did a challenge not too long ago.

00:14:23
Maybe it was even June, you know, times just flying.

00:14:25
I apologize if I forgot.

00:14:27
But challenge coming up here starting October 1 that we are calling the repair clear and thrive

00:14:33
challenge.

00:14:34
And the name is because that's what it is.

00:14:37
Like we have a system or a protocol of nutraceuticals and nutrition and kind of

00:14:42
dietary guidelines that helps the body to repair like within the gut and within you know,

00:14:48
the internal repair the systems, clear out detox, clear out the bad stuff.

00:14:54
And then at the back end of that, you're you're thriving, right?

00:14:57
You're getting to that level of of health.

00:14:59
So there's a few things within that challenge.

00:15:03
So, you know, maybe you can touch on kind of what that looks like and why we're doing it.

00:15:08
Yeah.

00:15:08
Our last challenge winner was Justin Morton.

00:15:11
Shout out to Justin for doing a great job on our last challenge.

00:15:15
And then this one, we have a massive, wellness package challenge like that you can win.

00:15:22
Like, I it's over $2 worth in value that you ultimately can win, from this challenge.

00:15:28
But, the challenge is a component of building, you know, we always say this, right?

00:15:34
Your diets are limited, but habits are everything, right?

00:15:38
And so when you start building the proper habit formation over a period of time and make that

00:15:43
like commitment, things change.

00:15:46
And you change, right?

00:15:48
And you evolve as a person.

00:15:49
We're constantly evolving.

00:15:50
Right?

00:15:51
We do we do we live by the motto of if we're not we're not growing, we're dying.

00:15:55
So how are we doing this?

00:15:57
We do this through challenges.

00:15:58
We challenge ourselves.

00:16:00
And so how do we step into a little bit of discomfort?

00:16:03
Not even you know, it's this what's cool about this challenge is, so we partnered up with

00:16:08
Apex, and Apex is the nutraceuticals that we're bringing into this challenge for the repair and

00:16:13
clear.

00:16:14
We use this in clinic for a detox portion.

00:16:16
So what's really awesome about this is if you're experiencing any sort of gut related or

00:16:23
microbiome issues, this is a protocol that we would put you on anyway, right?

00:16:28
And so, we would put you on this detox, this six weeks detox, it's a six week challenge.

00:16:34
And then we're gonna give you access all sorts of coaching through an app, where you're gonna

00:16:39
have platform to start building in these disciplines of just exercise and and then it is

00:16:46
I honestly, if you're if you're more of like the kind of what we say untrained or you

00:16:50
haven't trained in a while, what's good is that this is a good road map to just, like,

00:16:55
incrementally build these things in.

00:16:57
The why and the timing of it all is right before the holidays, right?

00:17:02
What better way to get yourself disciplined right before the holidays?

00:17:07
People wanna take that time off and just say, hey, I'm, you know, I'm gonna be a little

00:17:12
unhealthier during this time frame.

00:17:14
But what better way to start building these disciplines in right before the holiday season?

00:17:18
You're coming into Thanksgiving and Christmas where things get hectic.

00:17:22
And you're like, you know what?

00:17:23
I'm gonna I'm gonna start thriving before that to set myself up and set a new standard.

00:17:28
So we are super excited.

00:17:30
We're gonna start this on October 1.

00:17:33
It's gonna be the start date for this, and we're excited for everyone that's gonna get on

00:17:37
board.

00:17:38
For the first 10 people, they do get correct me if I'm wrong.

00:17:43
What's what's the incentive for the first 10 people that sign up?

00:17:46
Yeah.

00:17:46
The first 10 are gonna get a $100 off the intro price, so they save they save money as well as

00:17:51
they'll get a free like functional medicine consultation.

00:17:54
So you know, that's huge that's that's already a ton of value and then obviously all the

00:17:58
things that they're going to get within the challenge is the repair and clear protocol.

00:18:03
So that's the foundation the base.

00:18:04
They're going to get the app, which has tracking for you know, it has meal plans, it

00:18:09
has exercise videos and plans, it has coaching aspect from us so like people can, you know,

00:18:15
interact with us daily.

00:18:17
And then they are going to get a biometric screen as well where we do like a wellness

00:18:21
score.

00:18:22
It's basically like an overall screen of like their health, you get a kind of a grade or like

00:18:26
a number.

00:18:27
And then after the challenge, get another one and it's like, okay, like how good did we do

00:18:31
right?

00:18:31
Again, that's that tracking piece.

00:18:33
I think the biggest thing too is like with these challenges is like there's

00:18:36
accountability, but then there's the educational component and I like what you said.

00:18:42
You know, I think in this country, the standard is like people think about their health early

00:18:46
in the year for the first couple months, then they just go about their lives and then the

00:18:50
holidays come around and they get derailed and like everyone gains 20 pounds around the

00:18:55
holidays and then because the stress component to right not only the eating unhealthy, there's

00:18:59
so much stress around that time of year.

00:19:02
And then oh, January's here.

00:19:03
Let's let's think about our health again for another three weeks versus like we just want to

00:19:07
create this concept of like if you have the right habits, you're not going to be on that

00:19:12
roller coaster of getting derailed and then gaining weight, losing weight, gaining weight,

00:19:15
losing weight, you'll know what to do and maybe like what things not to do ideally and how to

00:19:20
maintain that structure and that discipline.

00:19:23
You know, yeah, there's a lot of value in the winning whoever wins a challenge is going to

00:19:27
win a lot.

00:19:28
But the win is just doing it and getting the results and learning too.

00:19:32
So and you know, not everybody has, you know, that amount of money to throw up front all the

00:19:39
time.

00:19:39
So we created like a like a payment structure as well that anybody can do like realistically,

00:19:43
it's so affordable.

00:19:45
So, you know, if you're listening and you want to learn more, this is on our website,

00:19:49
lesseefunctionalhealth.com/challenge.

00:19:53
That's what that'll take you to that page.

00:19:55
And so you can read more about it.

00:19:57
There's a video that I filmed me talking about it kind of what's involved, what you can win.

00:20:02
And it's going to be awesome and it's it's engagement too.

00:20:05
So it brings people together.

00:20:07
And we really just see like really positive outcomes when people could start to challenge

00:20:12
themselves and others.

00:20:14
For sure.

00:20:15
I think that's one of the biggest pieces like you galvanize that level of community,

00:20:19
engaging.

00:20:20
So if you're part of our clinic too, we strongly want to urge you to consider getting

00:20:26
into this challenge.

00:20:27
I think it's gonna be a really good opportunity for just the the people, you know, just around

00:20:33
within our clinic and within Tampa Bay for sure, just to really kind of galvanize and and

00:20:39
look ahead towards what, you know, what we're doing and really driving the charge of just

00:20:45
having healthier lifestyle and making, you know, that that model of being it's better to

00:20:51
be occasionally good than consistently perfect.

00:20:53
Right?

00:20:54
So occasionally perfect and consistently good is what I mean by that.

00:20:58
I I got it.

00:20:59
So got that reversed.

00:21:01
But at the same time of like, just really the building blocks.

00:21:04
Right?

00:21:04
We wanna we wanna incorporate the habit structures to live that healthier lifestyle.

00:21:09
So with this challenge, this is us kinda is is really stirring that on and, you know, building

00:21:15
something within the community that we have here in Tampa Bay.

00:21:18
Yeah.

00:21:18
And, you know, I think what maybe hangs people up is like doing something like this on their

00:21:22
own right they don't know if they're gonna be able to do it on their own so bring a friend

00:21:25
bring a partner spouse.

00:21:27
The second person who's you know involved gets like a discount we created that way so we can

00:21:32
kind of get people that you know want engage together with this and also obviously help

00:21:36
people out more, but you'll get better results too because you'll have that person who's in

00:21:40
your life that is going to be pushing you along the way outside of us obviously And so, you

00:21:47
know, yeah, if if if you think that's been the factor, maybe that would hold you back from

00:21:50
doing something like that.

00:21:51
You everybody knows somebody who would want to do it right?

00:21:54
Everybody has that a friend that would do it with them.

00:21:57
So yeah, you know, reach out to somebody and and see if this is something you're ready for.

00:22:02
The cool thing is man, we made it.

00:22:05
It's so easy to do like it's streamlined like we give you everything you need.

00:22:09
You just have to do it.

00:22:11
And so, it's all really guided and laid out for you.

00:22:14
And then you just have to follow through which then again, breeze results for people and

00:22:19
creates that level of empowerment, right?

00:22:20
Like man, I could do this that you can do anything, right?

00:22:23
And I think maybe people don't believe in themselves enough.

00:22:25
And so we're here to say we believe in you and, you know, you should believe in yourself more

00:22:30
and you can you can really rise up.

00:22:32
So really excited for that man.

00:22:34
I'm just excited for all this stuff.

00:22:36
The energy has been so so electric lately with everything we got going on.

00:22:40
And with this podcast too, you know, we're always trying to push out more value, more

00:22:44
valuable content.

00:22:45
We're going to create a more of a streamlined structure for where we're, you know, putting

00:22:50
out this content so people can have better access to it.

00:22:53
And more people can kind of learn.

00:22:56
You know the the good stuff we're doing so.

00:22:58
Yeah, anything else you wanna you wanna add in man?

00:23:03
You know, I know I think we're good man.

00:23:07
I think this episode was a wrap.

00:23:08
I think it's fantastic.

00:23:10
We just wanted to update people on kind of what what's ahead in the things that we have in the

00:23:16
pipeline.

00:23:17
Yeah.

00:23:17
Yeah.

00:23:18
So we'll do these, you know, every now and then just to make sure that our audience can kind of

00:23:22
stay in touch and stay in tuned.

00:23:24

00:23:25
