The evidence shows that 60% of people have some kind of chronic illness or metabolic disease.
00:00:05
That's a massive number.
00:00:07
That's a huge majority.
00:00:08
So how can we combat that with natural things?
00:00:10
Right?
00:00:10
How can how can our lifestyle become medicine?
00:00:13
Welcome to Health decode, your number one source for real health information with your
00:00:18
host, doctor Alessi and Matt Tack.
00:00:23
Alright.
00:00:24
Welcome to episode 1 of Health Decoded.
00:00:28
I'm your host, doctor Alessi, and your cohost, Matt Tan.
00:00:32
Awesome, man.
00:00:33
Awesome.
00:00:33
Well, very exciting what we're doing here, man.
00:00:37
And, this first episode, we just really want to introduce ourselves and let the audience know
00:00:42
kind of what we're doing.
00:00:44
We're pivoting from the full fueled podcast now rebranding as the Health Decoded podcast
00:00:51
running in tandem with our functional wellness clinic in Tampa, Florida.
00:00:56
And the mission, man, as it's always been, but even more so now is to help people to really
00:01:03
discern what is health and what is maybe some BS.
00:01:08
Right?
00:01:08
And I think that's the biggest thing when it comes to functional health and functional
00:01:12
medicine is, like, there's so many people out there just putting out information, what's real
00:01:16
and what's not.
00:01:17
And we have enough experience behind the both of us combined to really give people the truth
00:01:22
and, honestly, keep it simple.
00:01:24
So excited to be here.
00:01:26
Excited for this.
00:01:28
Let's do this.
00:01:29
Let's just give a real quick kind of summary of who we are and where we come from, and I'll let
00:01:33
you go first, man.
00:01:34
Yeah.
00:01:35
So my name is Matt Tack.
00:01:36
I, am a certified personal trainer.
00:01:39
Haven't used it a number of years, but through NASM.
00:01:42
And I would consider myself in terms of, highly educated in the health and human performance,
00:01:50
and what that means to be proactive about your health, especially for those men, and women
00:01:57
that are getting into their forties and fifties and kind of thinking and longevity mindset.
00:02:02
What does that mean to them?
00:02:03
So I've spent a number of years just, unpacking what it means to me and helping out other
00:02:09
individuals through the coaching process, of what human performance looks looks like, when
00:02:15
you're entertaining thirties, forties, fifties, and sixties, and how you can still be optimal
00:02:21
at any age.
00:02:22
So I am a human performance specialist, both in the nutritional realm and then in the,
00:02:29
physiological in terms of exercise.
00:02:32
Awesome.
00:02:32
Awesome.
00:02:33
And And I'm doctor Alfred Alessi.
00:02:35
If you're a patient in our office or if you're familiar with myself, you know that I'm a
00:02:40
chiropractor and functional medicine doctor.
00:02:42
And the goal is always prevention is better than cure, but there's oftentimes where people
00:02:48
are behind the curve on some disease or illness.
00:02:52
And what ways can we use natural solutions to, to achieve optimal health and not have to go
00:02:59
through the conventional medicine route, which honestly can just be frustrating and just a
00:03:04
rabbit hole of symptom based care.
00:03:06
And so that's really what we wanna to streamline and kind of focus on with this show
00:03:12
is how can we use natural solutions?
00:03:14
How can we use our own our body's own intuitive healing systems to heal from disease and to
00:03:19
stay healthy long term?
00:03:21
So, you know, the reason, man, we were, like, rebranding this this show is because we were
00:03:28
very much focused in our other podcast full fueled on a niche of men looking to optimize
00:03:34
their health, which is that's not like this is gonna go away, but we just find that we can
00:03:38
serve, like, the same with our clinic.
00:03:40
We can serve more people with the approach that we're taking right now.
00:03:43
And, really, the questions we always get, and I know you get it all the time, is, like, people
00:03:47
come to you.
00:03:48
Hey.
00:03:48
Is this, you know, is this true?
00:03:50
Is this real?
00:03:50
Is this is this is this right?
00:03:51
And they always have a million questions on something they heard online.
00:03:55
So, you know, we both kinda came together on that.
00:03:58
But, let let me ask you this, man.
00:04:00
Like, if you had to say tell tell the listeners what's, like, the mission, right, between
00:04:05
Alessi Functional Health and Health Decoded?
00:04:08
Yeah.
00:04:08
It's just a being more informed.
00:04:10
Right?
00:04:10
I think one of our big things in terms of, like, how what our outlook is, and what we
00:04:16
always talk about is, constantly challenging things.
00:04:20
Right?
00:04:20
Being intuitive, more than reactive about things, having be more being more proactive
00:04:26
about your health instead of reactive about your health.
00:04:28
And so then what does that look like in terms of just like pure layman?
00:04:33
And it's becoming more knowledgeable.
00:04:35
Right?
00:04:35
You when you have more knowledge, you have more more power.
00:04:38
And so if you can utilize that and make it purposeful and put it to action, there's a lot
00:04:43
of intention with your life around that.
00:04:45
Right?
00:04:46
And there's a lot of empowerment, in terms of how I can control, my daily activities when it
00:04:54
comes to from very basic things to nutrition selection, all the way to, like, how I spend my
00:05:01
time.
00:05:01
Right?
00:05:01
And how I efficiently spend my time so that maybe I can feel better, look better, play
00:05:06
better.
00:05:06
And so we always go around the clock on what, I guess we could talk about the pillars, at which
00:05:14
we move, although we won't purely, like, explain these in every episode, but it fuel
00:05:20
movement, sleep, mind, spirit, and work.
00:05:22
And if you can check those consistently on a daily basis and being like, Hey, where am I at
00:05:28
with these things?
00:05:30
You can ultimately evolve into a much better human.
00:05:33
So that's what we wanna stay true to, as our purpose, but get people more educated and have
00:05:39
them be cognizant of the decisions that they're making on
00:05:42
a daily basis.
00:05:43
Amen, man.
00:05:44
So, yeah, the goal is definitely to provide listeners with a ton of valuable knowledge, not
00:05:48
just, you know, me and you talking, but really just sharing, like, real, like, factual
00:05:53
evidence.
00:05:54
Like, hey.
00:05:54
The evidence shows that 60% of people have some kind of chronic illness or metabolic disease.
00:06:00
That's a massive number.
00:06:01
That's a huge majority.
00:06:02
So how can we combat that with natural things?
00:06:05
Right?
00:06:05
How can how can our lifestyle become medicine?
00:06:07
And, honestly, we're gonna share a ton of patient testimonials from the office.
00:06:11
We're gonna bring patients in and have patients kinda tell their story on the podcast, and we
00:06:16
want people to submit questions to us that they have.
00:06:18
Like, if you have a burning question, we want you to send it to ask at AlessiFXHealth dotcom.
00:06:24
And if you send us that question, we will answer it on the show with your permission.
00:06:27
And, you know, that being said, man, a prime example is a patient that we had and how us as
00:06:33
practitioners all work together.
00:06:34
We had a patient come in.
00:06:35
She was actually referred to me from a friend of mine who's a chiropractor.
00:06:38
Right?
00:06:39
And so you can think, like, why is a chiropractor sending a patient to another
00:06:42
chiropractor?
00:06:43
Well, her gut based symptoms was a little bit more in line with what we handle in the office.
00:06:48
This patient had been to multiple MDs, gastroenterologists, endocrinologists,
00:06:53
everyone.
00:06:54
And all they did was a bunch of really expensive tests, colonoscopies, put her through
00:06:57
this whole ringer of things just to tell her that they they couldn't figure out what was
00:07:01
going on with her, and they put her on proton pump inhibitors saying thinking that she had,
00:07:05
high stomach acid.
00:07:07
It was the opposite.
00:07:08
She had low stomach acid due to insufficient, balance in her gut bacteria.
00:07:13
All it took was a simple gut test to figure that out, which nobody ran because conventional
00:07:18
medicine doesn't really know these kind of things.
00:07:19
Right?
00:07:20
So these kind of cool niche, I guess, nuanced tests that we're able to run with functional
00:07:24
medicine, we found out what the problem was.
00:07:26
Within 3 months, she was symptom free.
00:07:29
Back no bloating, no indigestion.
00:07:31
She could eat all the foods again, and it was because we eliminated the bad, reinoculated
00:07:36
with good bacteria, and ultimately got her back to feeling amazing.
00:07:39
And so that's just one story out of a a bunch of stories we're gonna talk about on this show,
00:07:44
man.
00:07:45
Talk about, man, talk about some of the the frustrations you've seen, you know, in the
00:07:49
world of health care and and modern medicine.
00:07:52
Right?
00:07:52
If we talk about conventional medicine, not that we're knocking it by any means.
00:07:56
Right?
00:07:56
It it is there for a reason, and it's helpful, but sometimes can miss
00:07:59
the mark.
00:08:00
Anyone that highlights highlights to you?
00:08:03
Yeah.
00:08:03
I would say, you know, yeah.
00:08:05
We definitely don't wanna come across as, like, we're anti medicine.
00:08:09
Right?
00:08:09
Like, anti, you know, it's it's more so having an under understanding and more intuitive,
00:08:17
outlook with, with how you how you look at longevity and the overall health.
00:08:23
Right?
00:08:23
And how you maximize the days ahead.
00:08:25
And so I would look at it, purely as, what kind of what I stated before, in terms of, like,
00:08:33
alright.
00:08:33
What what things what checks, and balances can I make in my life, to ultimately feel better?
00:08:40
We have this model of look good, feel good, play good.
00:08:43
Right?
00:08:44
And so how am I incorporating these, like, small tactical things that ultimately can
00:08:48
optimize my living?
00:08:50
And so, as we look at our gut health, you know, that's a big thing is is really understanding
00:08:57
how your gut and how it's correlating to even the hormones in your body and how they're
00:09:02
transitioning.
00:09:02
Right?
00:09:03
Because a lot of times we're interrupting our gut, at its fullest capacity, and we're
00:09:08
minimizing what the the benefits of it it does have.
00:09:13
And then our hormones get all out of whack and our metabolism, and we blame it on aging.
00:09:17
Right?
00:09:18
But the the the reality is it's it's definitely not aging.
00:09:22
And so then it becomes like, alright.
00:09:24
Well, what do I need to do to reset things?
00:09:27
And so that's why we wanna, like, utilize this platform and kind of decode the podcast of,
00:09:34
like, what that means because a guy on our team, that's what he does for us.
00:09:38
Right?
00:09:39
He really he he would we take you through an entire process of leveling out your pH levels,
00:09:46
getting your gut to perform at a higher level of efficiency, and resetting your metabolism so
00:09:52
that you're living at optimal health.
00:09:53
So, you know, one of the things that I see in today's day and age is specifically, I think
00:09:57
people are questioning more and more about, like, our food and what they're putting into
00:10:03
their body.
00:10:04
I don't think that has actually correlated to the action component yet.
00:10:08
Right?
00:10:09
I think a lot of people are questioning, but they really don't care.
00:10:12
Right?
00:10:12
They're like, yeah.
00:10:13
But it's there.
00:10:14
Right?
00:10:14
It's easy.
00:10:16
I think that will evolve and come along.
00:10:19
But that's part of the process of what we're doing here in Health Decoded is we're we're
00:10:23
really saying, hey.
00:10:24
This is why you gotta shape and, shaping up and sharpen, kinda your the tools in your toolbox
00:10:31
because ultimately, what you're doing is hindering your your highest level of
00:10:35
optimization.
00:10:37
Yeah, man.
00:10:38
That's so true.
00:10:39
And, you know, we're gonna talk about a lot of different things, but mostly all will kinda tie
00:10:43
back to, the concept of, like, decoding what is health.
00:10:47
Right?
00:10:47
Getting to the bottom of it.
00:10:48
And health is not just merely not feeling sick or the absence of disease, but health is it is
00:10:55
my body performing, and is my body able to heal?
00:10:58
Right?
00:10:58
Like, because it should.
00:10:59
Our body has these built in mechanisms that should heal if you get an injury, if you get an
00:11:03
illness.
00:11:04
It should do its job.
00:11:05
Now when it doesn't, that's because there's something in the way.
00:11:07
There's a hindrance.
00:11:08
So, you know, we're gonna talk about root cause medicine, what it is.
00:11:11
We're gonna talk about inflammation, gut health, weight loss, real weight loss, not
00:11:18
like, you know, just, artificial medicine weight loss that then kind of rebounds and
00:11:22
makes people more sick.
00:11:24
Wanna talk about nutrition, detoxing, so many things.
00:11:28
The the list goes on and on.
00:11:29
We're gonna bring on some really awesome guests, people that we've had on the show
00:11:32
before, people that we're gonna bring back, new guests.
00:11:35
We're gonna revamp some of the older episodes that that were really popular and kind of
00:11:40
reinvigorate those topics again.
00:11:42
And I think it's it's just gonna really be cool, man.
00:11:44
We're gonna once a month try to do a an episode where we just answer our listeners' questions.
00:11:49
So we really want people, whether you're a patient or not, to to submit those questions to
00:11:55
ask atalesifxhealth.com, and we will answer those for you live on the show.
00:12:00
I'm excited, man.
00:12:01
I I really think, like, just the mission is is so solidified as to why we're doing this and,
00:12:07
you know, the import the importance of of these honest conversations and, like, debunking these
00:12:12
health myths, man.
00:12:13
Because, again, like, how many times is there some influencer who has zero credentials or
00:12:18
credibility, but they're popular on Instagram and they're saying a bunch of things, and then
00:12:22
how many people start trying stuff?
00:12:24
Now that being said, we we're proponents of trying things.
00:12:26
Like, it's not like I'm saying not to try something if you think it might help you.
00:12:31
But, I mean, there's a fine line between the some of this kinda weird fringey stuff and
00:12:36
people just trying to make a buck off of you.
00:12:38
And so that's not what this is at all.
00:12:39
We're not here to turn a profit off of anyone.
00:12:41
We're not here to, you know, use someone's, illness as a way to make money.
00:12:46
We are here to just give free information and value.
00:12:49
And so we want people to be engaged, and we just want them to deliver, man.
00:12:55
And act.
00:12:56
Right?
00:12:56
One of the biggest things, components, action on the backside of that.
00:13:00
So, how are we incorporating this into potentially our daily lives?
00:13:05
And a lot of them a lot of the stuff that we're gonna be going over here, like, that was super
00:13:09
basic.
00:13:09
I never thought of it that way, but we wanna explain health, and what it means and how to
00:13:15
decode health at a 3rd grade level where every any anyone and everyone can understand it.
00:13:21
And you can feel like your 20 year old self again.
00:13:24
So, you know, a lot of our listeners are probably gonna be in their thirties and
00:13:28
forties, maybe even older, fifties and sixties.
00:13:31
And they're like, man, how can I get my health back?
00:13:34
Right?
00:13:34
And it really is, like, one day at a time, one step at a time, but building those fun getting
00:13:40
those fundamentals, back in place, like shooting free throws.
00:13:43
Hey, I need to hit a couple layups.
00:13:45
That's right.
00:13:45
And you build those.
00:13:47
And, man, you're you feel like a completely new person.
00:13:49
So, that's what we're gonna be walking you through.
00:13:52
We'll get we'll get some nerdy on some stuff too, but, that's ultimately how we wanna just
00:13:57
you know, we just wanna give it to you at at its core level, at the basic level, and, hope
00:14:02
that you can understand and take some action.
00:14:04
Yeah.
00:14:04
The goal is to keep the information raw, real, but simple to digest, but based on science and
00:14:10
fact.
00:14:11
And so, that's the goal of this podcast.
00:14:14

That's how other people can find this and gain the valuable information as well.
00:14:25
Our our next episode coming next week is gonna be the root cause revolution.
00:14:28
So we're gonna talk about what is root cause medicine, versus symptom based care.
00:14:33
We're gonna really get into the the topic of that and how we can kinda shift the mindset of
00:14:37
our country to prevention versus waiting until something goes wrong.
00:14:42
So, anything you wanna leave the the guest with today, Matt?
00:14:46
No.
00:14:46
I'm just excited about, this kind of next journey.
